Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the UK based Haystack Dryers team found themselves unable to travel at a time when they would typically be performing annual maintenance and installations in preparation for the 2020 season. Fortunately, many of our customers machines were serviced earlier in the year however there are some that we were unable to be visited for pre-season checks.
As a government lockdown approached, the team at Haystack HQ jumped into action and recorded a series of videos on how to perform basic maintenance and servicing that may be necessary to keep the dryers in peak working condition in time for the parks to reopen, whenever they could.
These videos were sent to the Haystack US office where there was no lockdown in place and a help-desk was established to assist the parks in keeping the Haystack equipment in perfect working order, in preparation for park openings.
Wayne Jacks who is in charge of American operations mused “We wanted to make sure that any parks that open before our engineers could attend in person, would be ready to go for the season. Our instructional videos and parts packs were distributed to our customers directly, and have been regulalry viewed online. We anticipate that the majority of in-person engineering works will be delayed until restrictions are lifted and this gives our customers the opportunity to be ready” Wayne jumped at the chance to go to some local customers that were in reach of his Tennessee base, to finalise some further videos and carry out some pre-opening checks and maintenance. "I actually love getting out to the customers and servicing" quipped Jacks.
